I have 3 lines all eSIM on iPhone 13PM, 14PM, 15PM. You can activate plan and service with the SIM they mail you or any time with eSIM by clicking on "have eSIM to activate"

It sounds you are porting in/activating with an actual SIM card? my issue is with the eSIM. (port out from Mint eSIM, port in to Boost eSIM) I still have not resolved my issue.
