Whole uncooked they would be too hard, I would grind them up smaller. If using dates as the base, I would add soaked raising or something of the sort so the oats have moisture to absorb.

The consistency on these is off. If used for over night oats, they won't soften like regular old fashioned oats, on the stovetop they will be on the chewier side, if not cooked about 5 minutes...

A) 32oz=2lbs, not 1. Deal is for 8lbs @ ~$20 = $2.50/lb B) These are a more expensive high protein variety of oat (about $10 a bag usually)

I will say that the Organic Oats from Costco are a way better deal. Not only are they gluten free, but are also grown in a location without pesticides, which oats are littered with as they tend to be...
