I'd totally fly their lay flat seats but hard to get.
It's a BUDGET airline people. Get over the pay for everything.
You can upgrade for a few bucks to include a pillow, luggage and blanket.

The majority of Americans live outside of California, so you would need to add cost of a flight from other cities outside of California flying into SF. Like $400 to $500 round trip.

Zipair is pretty solid and it's direct flights which is helpful. April and May is a comfortable time to visit Japan as long as the rainy season doesn't overlap. Cherry blossom season is already over....
