Was just about to write the same thing. I would also say better over slightly better. I thought character and plot development was significantly better in The Last Kingdom. Vikings was still good...

AGREED, season 1 was really fantastic, but the demise Andy Whitfield was a tragic loss, and the show went downhill rather precipitiously afterwards...

if you appreciate the whole ecosystem, maybe. Imo it should have been Bjorn's show after his father..
on a side note, Assasin's Creed Valhalla is a great game and set in a similar world.
