Not only do you need masonry bits, as others have said, but I strongly recommend a hammer drill as well. Cutting holes with a standard drill is very slow and painful, even with proper masonry bits

I have this same set. The bits are good - super sharp. I've cut myself (minor) trying to pull them out of the holder which is my only minor complaint about the case and tension holding bits in place....
