I looked at these in store. They’re very thin and the straps don’t inspire confidence. Maybe they’d be ok for driving though a neighborhood but I wouldn’t trust them to hold a bike on the highway....

also, I bought this for my my older tacoma which has a “skinny” tailgate. The middle part of the pad that sits on the top is about 3x wider. It’s still usable but not a great fit. Would be perfect...

This is all you need. The wheel hangs over the tailgate and is turned 90degrees. This basically locks the bike in place. Depending on the shape of the frame it might be susceptible to tipping over....
