I bought one of each. I hope the fact it's really old doesn't hurt the performance. All the bottles had $5 rebate stickers on them that expired in 2022.

They are often dark red. Polishing pads are often yellow. The cutting pads are noticeable stiffer.

You could apply this hand with just a foam applicator. It would do best applied with a machine polished though but I would start with a fine pad at low speed and see how that does. I've used this...

Cutting pads are typically foam pads to go on polishers with different abrasive levels for multiple stages of paint correction(swirl, scratch removal, etc.).
