Definitely give it a try — my girlfriend never plays video games and this one totally sucked her in. the combat is so much fun, the quests are varied, and co-op is very well designed.

BG3 is great but i liked divinity 2 story much better and the soundtrack is non existant in BG3. Divinity also got me hooked way way more than BG3.
