You are correct, the issue was that the V3 wall connector was defaulting to 60amp. I had to log in to the interface and change the setting to 50 amp so it would charge at the correct rate. Thank you...

you are correct. I have two 50 amp breakers with 8 gauge wire to charge at 40amps. if you want anything higher you need 60amp breaker which takes up more room in your box and also you need 6 gauge...

I live 2 miles from a DC fast charger for the next 2 years i wont be paying 3-4.00 a night I dont plan on keeping the car more than 5-6 years so could care less about what is better for the battery....

If it is a 50 amp breaker according to NEC code you are supposed to use it at 80% if it is a permanent load - so that would make it 40A. For 48A you would need a 60 amp breaker and also 4 awg cable....
