It's most likely that its made in China. Get it and open it up, if there's plastic housing inside you should return it.

I don't think you understand how this works. You have to have two attachments, one to flatten the dough, then a second to cut it. This is a great price for the roller. I would guess the cutter...

Yes, inside they are using plastic. I also had one that broke. I had paid >$100 for the 3 piece roller + cutter set and feel ripped off - mainly because I only used it like 3-4 times before it broke.
