I suspect that is OK, as designed as it would be heating the 'grease trap' of the airfryer which would be annoying, especially for things like turkey bacon

I noticed that when I put it on air fry mode the Bottom elements don't heat up. Is this normal? I switched it to bake and I see them light up so I know they work

I replaced ours with a Breville and regretted it greatly. This air fryer heats up fast and cooks wonderfully. Going back to the Cuisinart.

LOL: You take out the pan, basket, grill thing for toast and bottom panel.
Put them in the sink or dishwasher and wash them. It not terribly hard.

It does run about 25 to 50 degree hotter so I tend to just bake most things at either 250 or 300. Like others the oven rarely gets used nowadays.
