No, it's released during the final rinse cycle. I also don't use the heated dry setting and it still dispenses. The amount of Jet Dry dispensed per wash can be adjusted under the fill plug.

Does the heated dry setting need to be used to dispense this? Wondering where in the cycle the fluid gets released?
I don't normally use the heated drying because a. things like coffee mugs...
