Was $999 the cheapest the 16" has gone for so far? This deal is already donezo so it might mean it was the better deal than the 14" for $699 which is still active.

That's a burnt voice coil filling the cabinet with smoke. You've welded the copper coils together. If it's under warranty, mail the driver to Klipsch for a replacement.

I have buyers remorse too with a similar situation and alas the 1400 is too expensive to return. The most impressive thing about the 1600 is how flat it is till 100hz. Meaning setting speakers...

Based on the data Klipsch released, a single RP-1400 hits harder at 20hz than an RP-1600.
I still want to stack an RP-1400 on top of an RP-1600 thoe ( •̀ᴗ•́ )

Whether two 14s match one 16 will depend on the frequency you're looking at. I bet at 150 hz, where you probably won't be using them, then two 14s will be louder. At 20 Hz and below? My bet would...

I understand we don't have true measurements, but if Klipsch is showing that the RP-1400 has higher "nominal volume" than the RP-1600 between 20-30hz, then I do believe that the RP-1400 is going to...

Dual 14"s will potentially give you flatter frequency response if properly placed and integrated into the room and system. Placed near each other, it will give you an additional 6dB of headroom.

I never posted a Reddit link, that was somebody else.
You again glance over the “it didn’t need to be pushed really hard”.

No, the JBL 550P is a good entry level sub at a very cheap price when it's $175. This is not an entry level sub.

your comment got downvoted because people felt that it was unsubstantiated generalizations, which it was, and it didn't help that you were apparently posting FUD about a sub that you don't even own....
