Are you washing them alone? I was all my wool items separately with woolite. Parents wash them together with cotton and this is what happens to theirs too.

I can't speak to their warranty or quality, Darn Tough is tried and true. So, I'm leaning towards no. My DT socks have held up for years (hiking, workouts, etc.).
