It really depends on what works for whom. I need to take Cetirizine every day to prevent hives. Loratidine does not work for that. But when seasonal allergies start, my daily Cetrizine does not help...

For allergies, likely not. They may not work as well, but should still do the job even years after expiry. I wouldn't do that for more important stuff like BP, diabetes, etc.
