I went through the process last weekend for a refund. They are refunding me the total amount. Not prorated. All i had to do is cut the power cord and take a picture of the serial number with the cut...

Depends if you have the receipt or they go by the manufacturer date on the side that you have to take a picture of. You can also opt for them to send you a kit and then they'll send a technician out...

I got $382 for 8000btu and $386 for 12000btu. No receipt. Replaced with similar 8000 btu Hisense from Costco
