Amazon currently sells these for $172 all day long - I just bought one last week For people who have to pay tax to New Egg (roughly $12 tax on top of the $160), it is the same price and I would...

Nevermind. Found a decent deal on WD Reds. I'd rather have a 3TB drive anyway.

This has a 5 year warranty folks. Try using ANY drive for 5 years; there is a good chance it will fail during that time meaning you are out of luck if its beyond the 1 year warranty expiration date...

I don't think Amazon pricematches price with coupon.

I'm more interested in software RAID than hardware RAID anyway. These would be more than adequate for FlexRAID. I built an HTPC recently so I need the bigger capacity drives. I have 2 x 3tb...

These drives should work with any RAID cards without dropping out of the array, for those that were wondering. Their green/blue drives can have problems with dropping out of arrays on certain RAID...

The lowest this drive has ever been on Newegg was $129.99. You'll be waiting a long time for it to see $99.

Agreed - if you're going to use an HDD for an OS drive, WD Black series is the way to go. Green and Red series are more optimized for mass data storage... Not even sure if they make blue in the...

While not the greatest price for 2TB, the other 2TB drives that are much cheaper are often awful drives.
