This is kind of misleading. You get an extra year of shoprunner for $29; the 2012 shoprunner membership is already in place and independent of whether or not you get this.

I swore that I had turned off auto renewal months ago, but I also got this email and just checked now and see that my auto renewal is turned to "ON". So, I'm not sure if I forgot or if this extension...

I live in Alaska so buying things from NewEgg was mostly out of the question due to their HIGH shipping charges. ShopRunner has paid for itself over and over again (had I actually paid anything).

Yes, one benefit is that shoprunner pays for return mail on returns.
But, I do wish that it covered more online stores that I use other than just Newegg.
