Really? I have one I got last year and did it. Weird. Still tho you could use the uverse gateway to do your dhcp and disable it on your dlink router.

I did try your instructions, but the Uverse Modem won't let me disable DHCP. I searched all over and online and it seems they made it so you can't disable that on their modems anymore.

Turn off wifi and disable dhcp on att.
Plug dlink into wired port of att.
Setup wifi and dhcp on dlink and set the gateway to the IP of the att box.
Now you connect wireless through dlink...
