Set them to auto-negotiate and that fixed it 11.3MB/sec. Hmm... it didn't work yesterday when i first connected it, that's why i switched it. Anyway, thanks!!

Set both adapters to Auto. Do as recommended and check Task Manager to see what they auto-negotiate. And if you have two slower PCs, then part of data transfer is the reading and the writing, so if...

What operating system(s)? XP had an issue where if it ran into a perceived issue with a hard drive, it would bump it down from DMA 5 down to 4, and so on, until it was in PIO mode. I had that problem...

the NIC in newer computers can auto-negotiate, thus making crossover cables obsolete..
try running task manager and going to the network tab - look at the "link speed" of the network adapter on...

What type of files are you transferring? Lot's of small files take longer than fewer number of larger files. Also AV could be slowing things down as it does a scan.

So I connected my PC to PC via a CAT6 Crossover cable. I set both adapters to 100 Full Duplex. When transfering files I am only getting 1MB/sec. Anyone know what i'm doing wrong?
