heh, fight for new york actually had good fighting mechanics and a pretty bomb soundtrack. and Snoop as the main villain. It's the only fighter not named super smash brothers that I ever finished...

These rapstar games are great, but you can definitely buy this game w/ mic for 9-15, TOPS. You have to let yourself go when you play these games. If you take yourself seriously, of course they suck....

Def Jam Rapstar was a good game if you like the music however the servers for the online portion no longer exist so it pretty much sucks now. It is a good party game still though.
