Oh I realize the benefit of the 1812+, I bought one as my first Synology since it was 8 bays ;). Already added the ds513 since I wanted to expand it. I would have gone for the 2413+ but they jump up...

QNAP does not currently have a CE5300 NAS in the works. Right now only Synology, Thecus and Asustor will be using the new CPU.

I haven't seen anywhere the rest of the specs so we don't know if everything is the same. We also don't know what price they will come in at. They might come in at a lower price point as a result...

Wouldn't that be a dream come true. That article specifically says the DS1513+ and DS1813+ will be powered by the Atom D2700 not the new Atom CE5300. The press release from last week for the CE5300...

The toolless drive trays are new along with the 4 lan ports. The 1812 and 1512 have only two. The CPU is the same based off that link since the 1812 has the 2700 also according to the wiki. ...

how does this compare to the DS1812? Is the CPU any difference? Not sure I need 4 lan ports. If I recall the ds1812/ds1512 are not tooless drive cages. Dont they have to be screwed in. ??

has anyone had any experience using the synology j series over ethernet to house an aperture library? Not sure if the throughput is enough to play nicely, so any input would be great.
