This thing is basically a stock replacement. It's louder and doesn't cool as well as an 8 year old stock intel C2D cooler. (though the tiny coolers intel bundles with 1155's are barely adequate)....

Don't want to use adhesive unless you have to. Generally less effective, and some times much less effective, than regular, non-adhesive, thermal compounds.
