I had a Bosch and this was my major gripe with it. Before you buy check out the different configuration the dishwasher offers, it is VERY different if you are coming from a traditional American brand.

No drying element is a plus for me (things can't get fried on them!).
It gets plenty hot without it and the dishes dry nicely. I've used this Bosch for about 6 years now, no problems.
