This is a really old/weak card, you can a current generation card for not much more. edit: For example, there's a $20 zotac GT 610 on newegg that is more powerful

i use this on my htpc, it streams 1080 well. The lack of fan is also really nice. And to answer the earlier questions, i use it because my board didn't have hdmi

Would this fit in a hp proliant n40l? I wanna make it an HTPC I remember that xx50 cards are mini cards (I think). But it seems that this micro server is not upgrade friendly. TIA

in short, no. the HD5450 is somewhat equivalent to the SandyBridge HD3000, thus, the ivy HD 4000 would be better than the radeon hd 5450. but imo, for streaming hd video, you probably can't...
