Thanks for the reply. I actually was interested in the "trimmer only" option, without blower. #1, blower does not have good reviews -- not surprising given how much power it requires to generate...

I've used the 18V FireStorm (nicad) trimmer and it is worlds better than using a smelly, loud, leaky, tough to start gas powered weed eater, or fumbling around with cords on a plug in one for that...

I want to get this B&D 20v one, since I already have another 20v MAX tool (and battery). Would have bought it, even though it cost significantly more. But they strategically exempted this (an many...

That is about right. I own most of the B&D line of 18v devices and that is my experience. It really depends on the item, tough. The hedge trimmer will go for quite a long time (30-45 minutes? more...

Just for comparison, I bought a refurbished homelite dual line gas trimmer for $60 from Southern States six years ago. A tank of premix lasts me three trims and it has as much power as I want. Oh...

I should note also that my 18v came with two batteries and the 12v only came with one. Also, the 18v I have has a turbo mode so you can quickly hack through stronger weeds by pushing the switch in...

The 18v seems to have a longer life to it on top of being more powerful. But you are correct for the 12v... it was really only good for 10-15 minutes before it is useless. The 18v lasts maybe 15-20...

How much juice do you get out of each battery? I'm reading stuff like it takes 9 hours to charge but only lasts 10-15 minutes.

The 12 volt trimmer felt a bit underpowered to me... I like the 18v better. It is worth the extra investment IMO. (Repped OP)
