Yes, look up the band on your carrier and compare to see if it will give you lte. Ebay and other places can give you unlock codes but they are pricey right now.

This is true. I learned this the hard way with Tmobile a few months back when the Note ii was shiny and new. After hassles and fees it wouldve been much better to just buy one from ebay full price.
