If you are using a Mac, you don't have to download anything to check the shutter actuation count. Open the image with the Preview application. Then, from the Tools menu choose Show Inspector....

There are several web sites that allow you to upload a low-resolution jpeg and it'll get the shutter count from the EXIF data. Just google nikon shutter count. A couple of the sites did not work...

The D3200 image quality is far superior. The G5KK has more features but not so great IQ.
