Got $0.375 richer in the conversion.

yes. Just don't redeem them as they will only assign an expiration date after conversion. And look out when ms will stop accepting these cards. They accept them indefinitely for now.

expiring currency that is cash equivalent gift cards is illegal. I am unsure how ms points to currency would be perceived. You have to wonder if someone challenged MS what the outcome would be.
