For your common household user, it doesnt make a difference whether your wall cabs are RTA or welded. For your tool chests/floor cabs its better when you get welded (e.g. modular gearbox, geardrawers...

price out cheap particle board cabinets and you will realize these gladiator cabs are NOT overpriced. and certainly not when on sale.

Not slick at all since these are Gladiator brand’s Ready-To-Assemble cabinets. The stronger welded cabinets are superior and have been the equivalent price in the past.

They may be over-priced (retail) but at the discounted prices (slickD) there is not much to compare. They look great and work perfectly in the shop, garage or basement. The Premier line is welded...

After purchasing the home depot kit at 129, and a 30" gearbox from sears at $23, the quality is pretty solid but I still feel its over priced.

I agree, but the amount of $$ it would cost to build something similar here in HI would almost be a wash, and these are metal vs wood. So it's all about Location :)
