would work on you, most the issue on modem is updated firmware that only can do when ISP pushes the firmware to your modem. troubleshooting is free on TWC as I remember. Had been done 4 years...

It's not hard to get them to activate it at all. Call support to activate, give them the MAC address and IF / when they ask for the model, just give them one off the approved list. they can't see it...
