We just bought hardrock specialized bikes for this very purpose. They haven't disappointed us yet. We got disc brakes since they're cheaper to get on the bike new than installing later on.

not sure about best ever. they used to have 20% off coupons (including bikes) + normal 10% points. bought 2 bikes with that.
ill take that over 30% points anyday
if a 20% (or even 15%) comes...
