Not worth going for 4k, but size upgrade is worth it. I will recommend Hisense (decent tier 2 brand and has good reviews). Element is just 3" larger, but I will be scared of getting that brand.

Check the settings and make sure CEC if set to off. If set to On and you have something connected via HDMI that is still powered on and also has CEC enabled, this kind of behavior may occur.
