I find the built acceptable, not cheap, but not praise worthy. I'm not too fussy as far as comfort goes, I can adjust to just about any headphones. I kind of wish the Q701's where a tad tighter...

Be aware that the 990 Pro has about a 30% higher clamping force on your head over the 990 Premium. That being said, if you have a big head, stay clear of the Pro and go for the Premium.

I had the Q701s for $99 from amazon brand new. I returned them because the bumps were awful! But true, the stock sound is superior to DT990 -- modded, 990 might not sound any better than Q701, but...

Or you can just buy a pair of cans that don't shoot pins and needles into your ears at high velocity in the first place, like say the AKG Q701's.. that's what I did and I'm much happier :)

Not for you. Don't make the mistake I made. They ARE bright, ear attacking bright! At least for me, though we all hear a little differently.

I bought a bunch of higher end headphones last year and found that the Beyerdynamic Teslas were incredibly comfortable. Do they have the T5p on sale anywhere?

I just picked these up a week ago to downgrade my desktop setup (had HD600, R70x, Fidelio X2..) -- these are great at what they do. But it is true that stock, the treble is piercing and powerful....

Always wanted one, but I have the 598 now, doubt my wife will be happy if I get a 3rd set. Is this the pro or premium? But yeah if thus is bright, then it's not for me

I see a lot of reviews saying these headphones fatigue fairly quickly. I saw simuliar views on the grados and after an hour they began to really hurt?

I own the DT770 80 Ohm and the DT880 250 Ohm. Thinking about grabbing these. Are they sufficiently different than the DT880 to warrant it?

They're bright as shit so fair warning. If you like the HD600 or HD558, you may not like these.

He said "80 Ohm Tesla." The one you're looking at clearly says 600 Ohm in the description.

no, they are totally different. the 880 is neutral/accurate (and boring to some), and the 990s are much more bass-oriented. the high end can be horribly sibilant, though. the 770s hit the sweet...
