I had one and a neato at the same time. Neato was WAY better. This thing got stuck constantly and rarely was able to get back to the base by itself. Would NOT recommend.

Got it a few days ago, yes it goes home by itself. Vacuums way better than I expected, doesn't bump into your furniture either.
