you're better off with traditional gear for night fishing. though you probably could snag some rays or sharks fly fishing at night. though, I probably wouldn't want to fly fish at night regardless....

What is special about fly fishing? These rod's seem expensive they recently had a deal at DICK'S that was 2 medium-heavy rod and reels for $35 and they were of a good quality.

The Wind River combo is a solid starter setup under 100. Depends on what you're looking to fish, but a 5 weight is a pretty common starter setup.
