For someone that young I'd get a 3/4 scale guitar. It would be much easier to handle. JR1 is the model you might look into. JR2 and JR2s are each upgrades "s" means solid spruce top....

The two slimmer FS models are more comfortable to handle for kids. The FG and FS Yammies are excellent beginner to intermediate guitars.

No problem. For some reason these guitar deals only show the right price when you click through the slickdeal links. I never see the sale price when I search Adorama.
