I love mine and for $90 is a great addition to any watch collection. I don't use many of the features but the notifications are pretty nice, I find I do miss them when wearing a normal watch.

I would avoid the moto. Mine lasted a little over a year then the battery became bad. Luckily I used the credit card warranty to get a $100 to put towards a lg urbane.

The original has a heart rate monitor (I have one) and you are correct that it only comes in 46mm. If a 4mm smaller size is worth $150 to you, then the 2nd gen is your best option.
