I bought this, but it arrived defective. Like I saw in a couple Amazon reviews, it is impossible to charge the bank past 50%. I left it plugged in all day, but it never progressed. On the other...

the amazon description says it takes 35 hours in sunlight to charge, and that's probably at a 12000 foot elevation on the equator. the solar output is 200mah @5volts according to the chinglish...

I have no experience with battery packs, nor do I need them, but my brother bought a cheap one from Walmart (2000mAh) for ~$5, and I just have to buy, this one to show him how big a mistake he made....

He charged up the battery to 100%. When he left home, he plugged his phone to the battery. After one hour, the battery left about 75% capacity. It is a true story......

My friend has a similar pack. He claims that he was able to charge it on the way to work (1 hour drive) to 75%. He has had no issues with it.

From the reviews, this does sound to be iffy on the solar panel other than providing a trickle charge to stop it from losing power. Well still $12 for a 9000mAh pack. Yop figured as much....

Reviews look spotty for performance as a solar charger, maybe the panel size doesn't make the feature practical, almost 30% of the reviews are 3 stars or less........
