The R7900 isn't Costco Only. It is just a "budget" version of the 8000. It only has 1 USB port and handles the 2.4GHz frequency with less throughput. Here's a quick comparison for anyone...

I avoid netgear routers from costco, netgear releases a "special version" of their routers that do not get updates like the regular ones sell for.

I had the same issue. The WAN port stopped working right after 1 year warranty expired. I'm using it as an AP now. No more Netgear.

Note that is not the X6 R8000 that everyone else sells. It is a Costco only model R7900 with slightly lower specs and probably not compatible with the standard X6 firmware.

Interesting, in my setup, the ac1900 (asus ac68u) has a much farther 2.4Ghz reach than the asus ac3200, albeit there radio are supposed to be the same. I wonder why. On SNB, the chart also shows...

That would be nice, but why would BB being sending the router back? I assume it was an unopened box. Wouldn't they just put back out on the shelf or if it was open, sell as open box item?
