You might want to Check the avsforum thread again, Samsung stated they're releasing an update to allow the 7100 series to run hdr. You can also mod the tv to run hdr and I believe some of the members...

I think it does. I still have a perfectly functioning 65" Mitsu DLP I want to replace but come to my senses knowing its in my video game media room and works fine. Going to wait a little bit more...

I have the 65" as my primary TV and it has a fantastic picture. I paid $2,500 for the 65" last year. Seems like a good deal for 75"

Kinda what I figured. I read some reviews that Samsung K9000 comes pretty close. Stupid LG and their $25k 77 inch.
