Ruger SR9s, Walter PPS, Smith and Wesson also has the shield, Glock 26 as well. Personally, I use my Glock 42 and Bersa Thunder 380 for both home defense and carry.

I really like the Glock 19. They are pricey but used in your price range. They carry well, and will shoot 147 grin JHP bullets. If 15 +1 of those isn't enough, you got bigger problems.
