To add, in addition to paying the watch commercials unless you pay more, with both scenarios you are paying for bandwidth in addition just to use Hulu.

I agree, the commercial time is still significantly less than regular TV. A typical 1-hour show is about 50 minutes on Hulu (that's 10 minutes less commercial time).
