well if you count gift cards as cash equivalent, then the toys r us gift would count the same way, and cash equivalent should be able to use like cash lol

Not all store policies are printed on GCs. It does say that it's not redeemable for cash, and many places count GCs as cash equivalents.

Between their archaic register system and unhelpful staff, I agree 100%. The hassle of trying to buy anything there that isn't at their usual bloated full-prices make it not worth the trip.
