The 1 is waterproof. I wear it in the shower. When I put it on, I don't take it off until the battery needs a recharge. That's 2-3 weeks later.

To get the most accurate sleep tracking yes it has to be firmly against your skin. I wear mine an inch above the wrist so that it doesn't move.

Owned the original Mi Band and 1s. For sub $20 you get what you pay for. Step counting is ok, it counts as you are just standing still moving arms but other expensive bands aren't that accurate...
