yes. they have an outdoor version that you can pre order right now. believe it does IR so no need the illuminated light anymore. but just on the outdoor version.

You could put it in the top corner of a room or set it on a book shelf, etc. I have had mine mounted outside (in PHX) for 6 months with no issues. It is protected from water, of course.

I thought I would mention since it surprised me, the motion sensors DO NOT work through glass. I had planned to use mine in a window and I had to change my plans.
