Yes, the iFi nano iDSD Light Edition is both a DAC and headphone amp. I believe you just need an OTG cable for it to work with an android phone.

Yes, getting an amp only or dac/amp combo will solve that for you. With amp only you just plug your phone's headphone jack to the amp, and your headphones to the amp.

Can vouch for the black edition idsd. I have it with my hd600 and the difference was way above my upgrade from sony 7506 to hd 600. Many say its a 'portable' shiit stack with 3d effect and bass boost.

I heard good things about iFi micro so that might been good with HD800.
