It sounds like for your uses, this router should be a good cheap way to get 5GHz AC to relieve your 3-4 devices in your congested area. I'd say the Archer C7 is a bit of overkill. Just remember 5GHz...

Comcast/Xfinity does and it's all we need to watch streaming music, video and movies. We only use 1-2 (Roku and a smartphone or tablet) devices at a time and almost never have buffering issues for HD...

BCM4706 - MIPS32 74Kc V4.9 is not a good spec for any processing like openVPN max out under 20 Mbps. but it is $35 good for 802.11ac You should buy six more and have 8x speeds! hahahaha
