open box still counts like buying "brand new" at costco, same 2 year warranty and can still add 3 year square trade warranty on top.

Went to Costco and saw they had an open box of this TV for $800. Was really tempted to pick it up. Does anybody have any experience with open box from Costco? Is the warranty still valid?
