That is a common fallacy of acquisitions. Netflix would not have been Netflix of today if Blockbuster had bought them. Blockbuster and the newly acquired Netflix both would have failed. The problem was corporate culture in trying to protect their revenue stream at any cost.
No, it isn't. They went out of business because they waited too long to adapt themselves to streaming.

Exactly, poor management is what sinks most businesses. Acquiring Netflix wouldn't have changed the guys at the top.
